Join us on the concourse of Central Station, home to a large-scale model railway, and play as you create a new identity for yourself in an imaginary town with other imaginary residents.

Taking its name from the much-loved childhood tale, The Little Engine That Could, I Think I Can brings together all the joys of the model railway with all the online fun of avatars. You pick a character that becomes an avatar, living another life in the model community – a life completely different to the life you should lead.

Follow your other self as your character is animated and magnified live via video streaming, and later via the online newspaper of this imaginary town, as you take part in an installation that is a whole lot of fun.

Sam Routledge is the Artistic Director of Terrapin Puppet Theatre in Hobart and has co-created over 20 productions across many theatrical forms, both here and overseas. Martyn Coutts is an award-winning interdisciplinary artist based in Melbourne. His work has been shown in theatres, online, in public spaces and galleries throughout Australia and the Asia-Pacific. Harley Stumm is the founder of Intimate Spectacle, a new performing arts production company working across genres, from contemporary theatre and dance theatre to live art, public art and site-specific performance.
